Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup White Distilled Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 6 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Pepper Flakes (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Chicken: Cut your chicken breasts into bite-sized cubes. Marinate with soy sauce and garlic salt for about 30 minutes for more flavor.
  2. Coat the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine flour (or cornstarch) with paprika and a pinch of salt. Dredge the chicken pieces in this mixture.
  3. Heat Your Oil: Pour enough oil into a large skillet to cover the bottom and heat over medium-high.
  4. Fry the Chicken: Add the chicken in batches, cooking until golden brown on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Make the Sauce: In a separate saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, water, soy sauce, and salt over medium heat until sugar dissolves and simmers until thickened.
  6. Combine: Remove the chicken and drain excess oil. Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet, add chicken, and toss until coated.
  7. Serve Hot: Let simmer for a minute to absorb flavors, then serve over rice or veggies.

Notes

For extra crunch, double-dip your chicken in the flour mixture. Adjust the spice level by adding more chili flakes if desired.
