Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter and let it cool for a minute.
  4. Combine the brown sugar and granulated sugar with the melted butter until smooth.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time and then the vanilla extract.
  6. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  7. Fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.
