Description
A comforting dish featuring tender steak bites in garlic butter over twisted pasta with a spicy Cajun Alfredo sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds sirloin steak (or chicken/turkey)
- 12 oz twisted pasta (rotini or fusilli)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Prepare the Pasta: Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Toss in your twisted pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Remember to reserve about a cup of pasta water later!
- Sear Your Protein: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and drizzle in some olive oil. Cut steak into bite-sized pieces. Season with salt and pepper. Add steak bites to the skillet in a single layer and sear for about 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway through. For chicken, cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Make It Buttery: When cooked, lower heat and add butter and minced garlic. Stir well, allowing the garlic to become fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
- Create the Alfredo Sauce: Pour in heavy cream and sprinkle in Cajun seasoning. Stir and let it simmer gently. Add Parmesan cheese until fully incorporated!
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Drain pasta and add it to the skillet with the creamy sauce. Stir to combine, adding reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
- Serve it Up: Remove from heat. Serve creamy steak bites over pasta and drizzle with remaining sauce.
Notes
For extra flavor, add garlic-infused butter while making the sauce. Experiment with proteins or add vegetables for a nutritious boost!
