Creamy Ground Beef Gnocchi Skillet
One pan • 30 minutes • Cozy, creamy, and super filling
Ingredients
Base

1 lb ground beef

1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
3 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
-
½ cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
-
1 package (16 oz) potato gnocchi (shelf-stable or refrigerated)
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Cheesy Finish

½ cup shredded mozzarella or Parmesan
Optional Garnish

Fresh basil or parsley
Instructions
1. Sauté aromatics

Heat olive oil in a large lidded skillet over medium heat.

Add the onion and sauté 3–4 minutes until soft.

Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
2. Brown the beef
-
Add ground beef.
-
Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.

Drain extra grease if needed.
3. Build the sauce

Stir in crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, optional red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Bring to a gentle simmer.
4. Cook the gnocchi right in the sauce

Add the uncooked gnocchi straight to the skillet.

Stir well and cover.

Simmer 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
5. Make it creamy + cheesy

Turn heat to low.

Stir in the heavy cream.
-
Sprinkle cheese on top.

Cover 1–2 minutes until melted.
6. Serve
Top with basil or parsley and serve right from the pan.
Notes

Sausage Version: Swap beef for Italian sausage.

Mushroom Style: Add mushrooms + omit meat.
-
Lighter Version: Use turkey + half-and-half.
