Description

Your Daily Cup of Calm: Matcha Almond Milk Latte

Earthy, creamy, and soothing—your five-minute ritual of calm.

Hey friends! This latte is comfort in a cup: earthy matcha meets creamy almond milk for a gentle, focused energy without coffee jitters. Perfect for a cozy pause, reading nook, or mid-afternoon reset.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder – ceremonial grade for sweetness & vibrancy

  • 2 tbsp hot water (~175°F / 80°C) – just under boiling to avoid bitterness

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk – sub: oat, coconut, or cashew milk

  • 1–2 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional) – start small, adjust to taste

  • Optional: dash vanilla extract or pinch cinnamon – adds warm depth

Instructions

1. Sift & Make Matcha Paste

  • Sift matcha into a mug or small bowl to remove clumps

  • Add 2 tbsp hot water

  • Whisk briskly (M or W motion) until smooth and frothy

  • No bamboo whisk? Use a small wire whisk, frother, or shake in a jar

2. Heat & Froth Milk

  • Heat almond milk on stove (medium) or microwave (60–90 sec) until steaming

  • Froth with whisk, milk frother, or French press for creamy texture

3. Combine

  • Pour a small splash of hot milk into matcha paste; whisk to smooth

  • Pour in remaining milk steadily

  • Add maple syrup/honey teaspoon by teaspoon, then optional vanilla or cinnamon

  • Stir gently bottom-up for even flavor

4. Serve

  • Pour into your favorite mug

  • Top with froth, optional dusting of matcha or cinnamon

  • Sip slowly, enjoy the calm

Notes

  • Clumpy matcha: Always sift; make smooth paste before adding milk; blender or jar shake works

  • Bitter latte: Water too hot or matcha quality low; use cooler water and good ceremonial grade

  • No sweetener: High-quality matcha can be enjoyed straight for earthy, umami flavor

  • Make ahead: Matcha paste (powder + water) can be stored in fridge for a few hours; combine with milk fresh
